United Way Exceeds Its Fundraising Goal
The United Way of Transylvania County handily met its campaign goal of $390,000 and some. On Tuesday, it was revealed $403,541 had been raised. Last year, the campaign netted $376,539.
At the non-profit's annual meeting before a crowd of more than 80 at the county library, Janet Grey, the president of the local chapter, said it was a time to celebrate accomplishments, including those of the agencies that United Way funds.
The non-profit, she said, is in transition. The three main parts of its current work focus on community impact, resource development and fund allocation.
