Cheerleaders Quieted by Storm
A group of area youth cheerleaders had a little more than team spirit to yell about this past weekend, as they dodged the tornados that ravaged the Atlanta area on Saturday.
Debbie Holden and her three daughters, Amber, Jasmine and Annaliese were at Douglasville High School for a cheerleading competition when tornado sirens went off. A twister, or funnel cloud, went over the building, Holden said.
The first siren had gone off at 2:30 Saturday morning and another rang out at 6 a.m. As the bad weather continued, sirens continued to sound, with another going off at 3:30 in the afternoon.
