Holiday May Be Taken Away


Schoolchildren could be attending school this Labor Day if the views of two Board of Education members hold sway.

At the Board of Education meeting Monday, both Chairman Teresa McCall and Board member Jenni Pogue expressed a desire to hold school on Labor Day and give students Memorial Day off. The suggestion came about during a presentation of the recommended school calendar for 2008-09.
