Burn Victim Needs Community's Help
Emory G. Owen of Brevard and his family have reached out to the community for help.
On Saturday, March 15, Owen suffered second- and third-degree burns over much of his body in an accident at his home while he was trying to burn some brush with gasoline.
He is undergoing treatment at Bowman Gray Medical Center in Winston-Salem and faces a long, painful recovery, according to his mother-in-law, Loretta Warwick.
Warwick set up a special benefit account at First Citizens Bank in Brevard on Thursday, so that friends and neighbors might help the family with medical expenses.
