Blue Devils Impress Despite Low Numbers


Hunter Massingale crosses the finish line first in the 400-meter dash. He has earned a first-place ranking in the state for his times.

Even though the Blue Devil track teams lacks sufficient numbers to win meets, the few on Brevard's team continue to impress head coach Bill Baldwin with their efforts, the latest at Asheville High last week.

Baldwin scheduled the Cougars to see where Brevard would rank when competing against some of the best 3-A talent in the state. The Cougars were runners up in their division last year, with plenty of speedy athletes to fill out a roster.

The 4X400-meter relay team of Carrington, Hunter Massingale, Ethan Babin and A.J. Zandecki finished first in that event with a time of 3:34. It was the...
