Students Keep Working During Spring Break

While most of their classmates were away for spring break, a group of Brevard College students decided to stay in town for the week and give their time and energy to the Transylvania chapter of Habitat For Humanity, which builds home for needy families.

"We just decided it was a better way to spend our time," said student Mandi Pearson.

They worked with other Habitat volunteers to paint and landscape two new Habitat homes south of Rosman off Old Toxaway Road. These are the 43rd and 44th homes built by Habitat in the county. The program began here in 1984.
