Entry Level Pay For County/City

 


Side bar-Last spring, the City of Asheville passed its own living wage ordinance.

It was "largely symbolic," said Sarah Osmer, a coordinator with Just Economics, a non-profit aimed at educating and advocating for equitable economic conditions, and the driving force behind the living wage campaign in Asheville.

Just Economics has also been advising the Transylvania County group with its efforts.

Asheville city employees were already being paid a minimum of $10.86 an hour plus benefits.
