Renovation Costs Could Be As Much As A New Building
Renovation costs are often just as high as new construction, according to Moseley Architects, which is advising one of the committees looking at the possible moving of judicial operations from the courthouse.
Daniel Mace, a vice president with Moseley, said renovations don't always have the best results.
There is significant concern in the community about damaging the historic integrity of the courthouse and its physical limitations, even in the event of renovations, he said.
Most of the people Mace has talked with so far are interested in constructing a new building, he said.
