Lady Devils Hand Mounties Their First Loss

Mariana Vazquez's brilliant header off a Marielle DeJong corner kick with just over six minutes remaining capped a Brevard second-half comeback and gave the Lady Devils a 2-1 win over previously-undefeated 3A power Tuscola Thursday night.

The win ranks among the most significant in Lady Devil soccer history, considering the quality of the opposition and the come-from-behind manner in which it was achieved.

"It was a big game," said Brevard head coach James Duff in perhaps the understatement of the year. "I think that was our best game of the year so far.
