Group Brings Awareness To Parkinson's

A group of determined Transylvania County residents gathered at the Brevard Post Office Thursday to kick off their annual effort to increase local awareness of Parkinson's disease.

Brevard Mayor Jimmy Harris was there to lend his support and read a proclamation announcing that April is Parkinson's Awareness Month.

The residents, members of the Brevard-Hendersonville Parkinson's Disease Support Group, were at the post office for two hours sharing refreshments and information about the disorder with members of the public.
