Parents Comming Together For Support

No one ever said parenting was easy, but it's fair to say Hope Jordan of Brevard has her hands full.

She is the parent of a child with Aspergers Syndrome (AS), a form of Autism. While her son, soon to be 10, appears outwardly normal, a closer look reveals otherwise.

Jordan says children with Aspergers are often referred to as "high functioning Autistic.""

People with AS are born with brains that work differently than others, so they learn differently from others, she said.

"My job as his mom is to listen to him and to believe in possibilities and to accept what I can't control," she sai...
