Aldermen Don't Like Site For New Animal Shelter


By a 4-0 vote, the Rosman Board of Aldermen passed a resolution opposing the construction of the new county animal shelter at the site of the old landfill. The resolution recommends that the county commissioners look at the Woodruff landfill as the site for the new animal shelter.

Board members said residents near the currently proposed site are afraid noise from the shelter will be more than inconvenient and their property values will decrease.

Alderman John Raines said people will not be happy if the directions to their home are "go to the dog pound and take a right."
