Commissioners Talk About Failing Septic Systems


Members of the Transylvania County Board of Commissioners have turned their attention to the extension of sewer service to 60 homes in three areas of Rosman that have aging or failing septic systems.

The price tag for the project would be about $1.5 million.

County Manager Artie Wilson has looked at the possibility of grants from the state and federal government to help with the project, but he said grant funds are hard to come by at present.

If a grant could be obtained, the county might consider providing matching funds.
