This article is to update the Brevard community, and to give a huge thank you to the countless people who contributed money to help send Girl Scout cookies to my son Eric's Navy ship, the USS Carney DDG 64.

Girl Scout Troop #177 and their leader, Jeanne Hatter, asked for help in an article titled, "Girl Scout Cookies Support Sailors", published in The Transylvania Times on Feb. 14. Many people donated "extra" dollars when buying cookies from their booths in February and March at Bi-Lo, Lowes, Wal-Mart and Ingles. The Girl Scout troop collected over...
