Cilley Hands Down Verdict: Time To Retire

Robert Cilley is an avid chess player and takes nature photographs.

His day job is pretty interesting too. He's the chief district court judge in District 29B, which includes Transylvania, Henderson and Polk County.

Cilley might have some more time to get out into the woods near his Williamson Creek home after the end of the year, when he retires from his position in the court system.

Cilley is highly regarded by others who work with him in the courthouse.

"He'll be sorely missed," said Rita Ashe, clerk of superior court in Transylvania County.
