Brevard Streak Ends At 11 Years, 111 Matches

No streak lasts forever: not Lou Gehrig's, not Cal Ripken, Jr.'s, not Lance Armstrong's and now not Brevard High School's.

Over the past 11 years the Blue Devil tennis teams amassed a remarkable run of undefeated conference seasons, going 111-0 during that span.

Along the way they made the state finals and were bounced from the playoffs by private schools from Charlotte and Raleigh.

But those were non-conference losses and Monday's contest with North Henderson broke the chain and it was a close contest at that.
