Land Donated For Future Conservation

Kells Hogan, the owner of Deep Woods, a camp for boys since 1970, said his land is an "island in a sea of development."

Hogan recently donated 325 acres of land to the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy (CMLC) in a conservation easement. The easement protects the land from development and preserves its natural state.

"The more islands we can preserve the better," he said.

Hogan said the easement would allow Deep Woods Camp to continue for future generations.
