County Sides With Clinton

 


North Carolina state primary for the Democratic nomination for president of the United States, but he didn't fare as well in Transylvania County, which threw its support to his opponent, Hillary Clinton, on Tuesday.

Statewide, Obama won 56 percent of the vote and tallied 897,017 votes compared to Clinton's 660,747 votes.

Perhaps helped by several campaign visits to western North Carolina, Clinton took 52.82 percent of the vote in Transylvania, to 44.71 percent for Obama. In the county, she tallied 3,138 votes compared to Obama's 2,656.
