McCroy To Take On Perdue

 


Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory won the Republican nomination for governor Tuesday and will face Democratic Lt. Gov. Bev Perdue in November.

McCrory received 233,877 votes statewide, but he received only 481 votes in Transylvania County, coming in a distant second to Fred Smith with 1,411. Smith came in second statewide with 186,402.

The following is a breakdown of the other candidates in the Republican governor race: Robert Orr, 423 (34,104); Bill Graham, 394 (46,800); and E. Powers, 39 (4,451).
