Health Report Has Good, Bad News

 


Deaths from breast, colon and lung cancer in Transylvania County have seen steady decreases in the past few years, but the county's health isn't all good news, with increasing rates of diabetes and childhood obesity.

These findings and others are part of the Land of Waterfalls Partnership for Health's annual report, which was discussed last week at the library.

Steve Smith, the county health director, gave an overview of the issues facing the county in the future.
