Beer Sales Cause No Major Problems

There were no problems at the White Squirrel Festival last weekend related to the first-ever sale of beer at the event, according to two Brevard officials.

Police Chief Dennis Wilde and Madrid Zimmerman, executive director of the Heart of Brevard, said while the festival was well attended, problems in general were few.

"We had no problems related to our sale of beer. We expect proceeds to offset expenses and help so that the burden does not solely fall on sponsorships," Zimmerman said
