Transylvania Students Observe Memorial Day

Transylvania County students from kindergarten through high school commemorated Memorial Day in their classrooms. At Rosman Elementary art students used clay to design and create their concepts of sculptures or monuments that might be erected to commemorate Memorial Day.

In most elementary classrooms the Memorial Day theme was woven throughout the day. Popular activities in kindergarten classes included students singing patriotic songs in honor of our veterans and making or coloring United States flags.
