Commissioners Plan To Brrow $2.8 Million
County commissioners increased funds for fuel and gave the school system another roughly $42,000 as they wrapped up their budget discussions on Tuesday.
The commissioners made few significant changes to the $42.4 million budget for the 2008-09 fiscal year that was presented by County Manager Artie Wilson last week.
The county also plans to borrow $2.8 million for the new law enforcement complex. A public hearing on the budget, which includes no property tax increase, will be held at a later date before final approval.
To balance the budget, the commissioners dipped into the reserves.
