Council Approves Budget


Brevard Mayor Jimmy Harris said the city's budget for the upcoming fiscal year isn't perfect but he's happy there's no tax increase.

The City Council approved the budget during its regular meeting on Monday. The $12,096,925 budget to fund all city services during 2008-09 represents a 7 percent increase over the previous fiscal year.

The budget includes a 6 percent increase in water and sewer rates. It will add about $3.90 more to an average household's monthly bill.
