Philip H. Reynolds

 


Philip H. Reynolds, 88, formerly of Brevard and of Lexington, Ky., died at 4:28 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 in the Shook Home, Chambersburg, Pa.

Son of the late William A. and Mary E. McKennan Reynolds, he was born in Dec. 9, 1919 in Malden, Mass., but was raised in Southern California.

He was a graduate of both DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. and of George Williams University in Chicago, where he earned a B.S. degree in social sciences.

A veteran of World War II, he served as a Lt. Jg. with the U.S. Navy from 1942-1945 in the South Pacific.

He retired from the Eastman Kodak Company after 32 years where he was employed as a purchasing agent in Rochester, N.Y., and Columbia, S.C.

He is survived by his loving wife, Leta F. Newman Reynolds, whom he married on Dec. 22, 1941; two children, Phillip (P.) and wife, Kate) Reynolds of Chambersburg, and Lynne Reynolds (and husband, Mark) Wallace of Justin, Texas; grandson, Philip P. (and wife Becky) Reynolds) II and a great-granddaughter, Maegan Reynolds, both of Columbia, S.C. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William A. Reynolds.


A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201
