Council Rejects Habitat Request
Habitat for Humanity's desire to have all of its operations, including its retail store, relocated under one roof at the Brevard Commerce Center off Railroad Avenue was dealt a blow Monday.
In a 3-1 vote, the Brevard City Council rejected Habitat's request to allow retail sales within general industrial zoning.
The majority of the Council said the city and county has few sites for industrial uses and job creation and, despite the good work Habitat does, couldn't afford to lose any more.
