Old Wood ‘Recycled' At Rustic Edge

Once earmarked as firewood, the Maple slab was instead turned into an attractive wine stand.

The wood's original owner, who lived off N.C. 280 in Brevard, got some better firewood in exchange, said Aaron Bailey, who operates Rustic Edge, located on U.S. 64 in Lake Toxaway.

Rustic Edge specializes in "organic furnishings," using pieces of wood spotted in yards and landfills, or from tree removals and lot clearings and turning them into furniture, decorations, small bridges and boardwalks.
