Fly Fishermen Lured In By Fishing Class
The hot, dry conditions and low water made the fishing easier than the catching, but the students were willing participants in the class, given by Headwaters Outfitters' Than Axtell.
Tuesday's class, hosted for residents at Burlingame, was a brief taste of what Axtell offers in three-hour and all-day classes designed to hook anglers (pun intended) into the sport of fly fishing.
Burlingame's Scotty Ruff, who runs outdoors classes for residents there, custom-designed the day, offering instruction from fly and knot tying to casting and eventually wading.
