Music Will Fill The Mountain Air

The Brevard Music Center opens its new season Friday night with Keith Lockhart in his new role as artistic advisor and principal conductor and a guest appearance by world-renowned cello player Yo-Yo Ma.

Friday kicks off the Music Center's 72nd season, and through Aug. 10 concert-goers will be entertained by more than 80 performances.

Lockhart, a former BMC student and guest conductor, is the conductor of the famed Boston Pops Orchestra. He will face a hectic schedule commuting between Boston and Brevard for much of the summer.
