Gorges Views Opened Up At Gorges
Steve Pagano said the construction work currently going on at Gorges State Park has opened up views that have surprised him and will delight visitors in the future.
The paving of four miles of road and parking lots are scheduled to begin in August, with the Grassy Ridge access, off N.C. 281, reopening in November.
Pagano, the park's superintendent, is excited.
"The views that opened up I didn't think existed before," he said.
Phase one of the project has been all about infrastructure — grading the roads and parking lots, and putting in water and sewer lines, electrical cables.
