Fireworks Safety Urged


With the current dry weather and Fourth of July approaching, Fire Marshal Gerald Grose urges the public to be careful when using fireworks.

"I don't want to discourage the public from enjoying the holiday," said Grose.

"But I want to warn them to be careful since we're in a drought more severe than the one in 2007 and are close to water restrictions."

Grose said since there is not a burning ban, people over the age of 16 are free to purchase and use legal fireworks.

"This means no illegal fireworks that can fly, explode or move," he said.
