Public Safety Complex Off The Ground


Roads and much of the infrastructure for the new county Public Safety Complex have been completed, but it will be another 12 months before the $20 million project is finished.

Six months down and 12 to go. That's where things stand for the new Transylvania County public safety complex, now under construction on Morris Road in Brevard.

The project, County Manager Artie Wilson said, is "close to being on schedule."

The site is has been a beehive of activity since ground was broken for the $20 million project in early January.

Access roads and parking lots are in, and three storm water retention ponds have been constructed.

The foundation for the building is in, and walls are being built at a rapid pace.
