Bednarek: Hospital Is County Safety Net
Bob Bednarek said Transylvania Community Hospital is the "safety net for health care delivery" in the county.
During the past year, the hospital provided roughly $900,000 worth of care to 1,830 patients who could not afford to pay, and absorbed nearly $2 million of uncollectible charges for 7,800 people, said Bednarek, the hospital's president and CEO.
