City Of Brevard Celebrating 140 Years

The City of Brevard is 140 years old, and it's almost time to celebrate.

A block party, featuring guest speakers, music, games, food, and historical exhibits, will be held from noon until 10 p.m. this Saturday in front of City Hall on West Main Street.

"Some things have changed such as the population, transportation, communications and level of services provided, but in another way many things have stayed the same," Mayor Jimmy Harris said.

"Brevard still attracts those who dream big dreams and have great optimism for the future and are willing to continue to work to make Brevard the best...
