Officials: Don't Be Alarmed By Crime Numbers
Local law enforcement is telling the public to not be alarmed over the recent increase of breaking and entering incidents in the county.
The Sheriff's Office has received reports of 40 more breaking and entering cases over a 12-month period starting in July 1, 2007 compared to the same time period beginning in July 1, 2006.
Transylvania County Sheriff David Mahoney said these numbers are still low compared to other North Carolina county figures.
