Non-native invasive species cause massive damage estimated to cost $120 billion to $138 billion annually in the United States. Besides the direct costs to foodstuffs, forestry, tourism, construction and recreation due to damage and control costs, the effects on extinction of species, biodiversity and loss of ecosystem services are beyond calculation.
