Mental Health Provider Changes


Appalachian Counseling, a mental health service provider with offices in Brevard, Hendersonville and Asheville, has changed its approach to doing business because of continued volatility in the mental health services field during the past two years.

The company has ceased handling community support services, which include case management and intensive in-home support and are mostly government funded, according to Jane R. Ferguson, CEO of the firm.

Appalachian has made arrangements with another local service provider, Families Together, Inc., to handle the some 200 community support cases it...
