Locals Step Up To Offer Help
As when Katrina hit, local residents are stepping forward to help hurricane victims.
Fifty volunteers gathered recently at Calvary Baptist Church to go to Texas to aid those impacted by Hurricane Ike. The group was assigned to Baytown, Texas.
More volunteers are needed to do such things as chainsaw work and heavy lifting as part of the cleanup after the storm, according to Dr. Charles Campbell, the associational missionary with the Transylvania Baptist Assoc-iation.
