Burns Weds Banner


Erica Yvonne Burns married Chad Russell Banner

Erica Yvonne Burns and Chad Russell Banner were united in marriage on Oct. 18, 2008 at 5 p.m. at the Brevard Music Center. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Marty Burns. The Reverend Brent Metcalf officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Marty and Trina Burns, of Brevard. She is a graduate of Brevard College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Studies. She also earned a degree in nursing from Greenville Technical College, of Greenville, S.C. She is currently employed as a cardiac nurse at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

The groom is the son of Kenny and Sabrina Banner, of Kershaw, S.C. He is a graduate of Western Carolina University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. He is currently employed as the estimator for Jennings Builders Supply, of Brevard.

The maid of honor was Jillian Burns, of Brevard, sister of the bride. Her bridesmaids were Mary Caldwell, of Anderson, S.C., Amy Coffey, of Arden, Joni McLendon, of Simpsonville, S.C., Tracy Scott, of Asheville, and Candrea Tyrell, of Charleston, S.C. The flower girls were Emily McCall, of Brevard and Morgan McLendon, of Simpsonville, S.C.

The best man was Garrett Banner, of Asheville, brother of the groom. His groomsmen were Justin Bannerman, of Charleston, S.C., John Gentry, of Mills River, Drew Hooper, of Brevard, Jake Hunter, of Skyland, and Shawn Silliman, of Arden. The ring bearer was Owen McLendon, Simpsonville, S.C.

Following the wedding ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Straus Auditorium on the Brevard Music Center campus.

Following a honeymoon to Red Lodge, Mont., the couple will reside in Pisgah Forest.
