Gorges Gets A $6.5 Million Boost
Gorges State Park gets another boost to its development plans with a $6.5 million allocation from the N.C. Parks and Recreation Trust Fund.
The latest grant will allow park officials to build a planned visitor center, two new picnic areas, two restrooms, and a maintenance facility.
Steve Pagano, park superintendent, is excited about the news, which brings the total funding to $14 million.
"I was told that this was the only large capital improvement approved by the trust fund this year," he said.
