Hunt Comes Out Against The Parole Of Clyde Mason


District Attorney Jeff Hunt said he strongly opposes the potential parole of Clyde "Doc" E. Mason.

Mason, 66, is being considered for parole through the Mutual Agreement Parole Program, according to the N.C. Post Release Supervision and Parole Commission,

On Oct. 28, 1987, Mason was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his 37-year-old divorced wife, Sarah.

"It was a brutal first-degree murder that was cold blooded and in broad daylight," said Hunt on Friday.
