New Bookmobile Hits The Road

On Saturday, the new Transylvania County Library Bookmobile made its first official run, with visits to the Balsam Grove Community Center and the Rosman Town Hall.

The 28-foot-long bookmobile can hold at least 3,000 books, according to Lisa Sheffield, who heads the library's adult services division.

"We just think it's beautiful," said Sheffield about the bookmobile, which has photos of local scenes on its side. The photos were donated by local resident Tom Atkins.
