Busy Black Friday Is Reported

Local retailers reported good sales and busy stores during the Friday after Thanksgiving Day sales.

"We were covered up and that is a good thing," said K-Mart Manager Dean West.

West said his store opened up at 6 a.m. to a crowd of people waiting to get in.

"I was optimistic but still cautious on my expectations for sales for the day," said West.

He said that by 8:30 a.m. the store was already ahead of last year's sales.

"They are buying everything — a lot of electronics as always but more basketball goals and bikes, too," said West.
