Salvation Army Bell Ringers On The March
The sounds of traditional Christmas music filled the air in downtown Brevard on Friday as supporters of the Salvation Army gathered outside the Transylvania County Courthouse to kick off the annual Christmas Kettle campaign.
Volunteer bell-ringers will be at local stores until Christmas, collecting donations for the needy in their traditional red kettles. Also, the Salvation Army will be sending out letters to county residents asking for financial contributions.
Brevard Police Chief Dennis Wilde, the chairman of the local Salvation Army board, was the first to speak.
