Dismissed Railroad Laysuit Merely Put On Hold

The future of the currently dormant railroad line between Pisgah Forest and Hendersonville remains unresolved, according to a spokesman for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

Norfolk Southern has considered abandoning the line, which became inactive with the closing of the Ecusta mill, but the company has yet to announce a decision, according to Robin Chapman, a corporate spokesman for Norfolk.


The line is temporarily out of service, and we are studying whether to place it back in service," she said.

The legal status of the line was the subject of a lawsuit filed by attorney James Kimzey of Breva...
