Huge Steel Pipe Pins Worker

The worker pinned at the shoulder on Monday by a steel pipe inside the cab of a track hoe for more than an hour remains in stable condition.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway at the former Ecusta site to find what caused the 35-foot, 12-inch diameter pipe to fall from roughly the third floor of the building into the cab. The building was known on the Ecusta site as the turbine room.

The worker, who hasn't been named, was employed by D. H. Griffin, the company demolishing the buildings to make way for the planned mixed-use development, Davidson River Village.
