Gordon Byrd has worn many hats during his years of service to this community and state. He has been a pressman and foreman for The Transylvania Times, a Brevard Fire & Rescue volunteer and chief, a Transylvania Fire and Rescue coordinator, a Western North Carolina Fire and Rescue instructor at community colleges in seven counties and statewide instructor.
