Police: Break-Ins Tied To Regional Crime Spree

Breaking and entering cases in five Transylvania County businesses could be tied to a string of break-ins that have occurred throughout western North Carolina.

Just before 6:30 a.m. Monday, the Brevard Police Department received a call from Cardinal Drive-In, one of the five businesses that had been broken into sometime late on Sunday or in the early morning hours. Employees at the South Broad Street business reported the business had been broken into but nothing was stolen.

A short time later, a second business was identified as a break-in victim.
