Dulcimer Day Announced

Dulcimer Day will include demonstrations, workshops and a concert on April 16.

s part of Dulcimer Day at Silvermont, residents are invited to join the Waterfalls Dulcimer Plays to learn and play music, as well as listen to a concert by Paul Andry.

The event, “Put Spring in Your Strings,” will be held at Silvermont on Saturday, April 16.

The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a welcoming concert and song swap.

At 11 a.m. there will be hands-on help for newcomers to the dulcimer while dulcimer players will exchange tips on improving their music.

After a 90-minute break for lunch, Andry will conduct a workshop from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The day’s activities will conclude with a concert by Andry at 4 p.m.

Cost to attend the daylong event is $20, which includes beverages and snacks. The cost for those just attending Andry’s 4 p.m. concert is $5.

The event is being sponsored by the Senior Opportunity Center and the Transylvania County Department of Parks and Recreation.
