County Rejects City’s Septage Facility Offer

Transylvania County commissioners have decided not to participate in a project with the city of Brevard that would provide a new facility for collection of septic tank waste collected around the county.
Commissioners voted 4-1 Monday night, with Commission Chairman Mike Hawkins dissenting, to end consideration of the project.
The city has just gone out to bid on the renovation of its wastewater plant, with one of the alternatives being construction of a new septage receiving station.
